Deputy Governor and Chief Officers’ Meeting have a full schedule
The latest Minutes of the Deputy Governor and Chief Officers’ Meeting held on Monday Sept. 10th was such a full meeting a presentation by Eric Bush on the employee suggestion and reward programme had to be deferred until next week’s Chief Officer’s Meeting, due to time constraints.
Items that were discussed were
- a presentation by the Auditor General on the role of the Auditor General’s Office and the Consultation Draft document produced by his office on “Reporting the Results of Our Work”,
- a presentation on the Deputy Governor’s Awards given by Ailene Holder of the Portfolio of the Civil Service,
- a Budget Update where it was emphasized the FCO had made it clear that there would be no approval of supplementary expenditure, overview of the “80/20” Hiring Freeze, changes to the moratorium process, new salary scale and amendments to the PSPL and PSML to affect the 3.2% reduction in salary and preserve pension’s benefits for civil servants, the conditions outlined in the Budget approval letter from the FCO where he advised that the purpose of the newly formed Budget Delivery Committee was to assist the Government and the Minister of Finance in the delivery of the budget including expenditure and revenue targets. There was also an overview of the 3-year budget submitted to the FCO and the FFR as it relates to the upcoming SPS. The Ministry of Finance will hold a further meeting with all CO’s and CFO’s to discuss key features of the 3 year budget,
- National Heroes Day Awards for Youth Services,
- nominations and the upcoming Healthcare 20/20 conference from 18-20 October, 2012 where there will be sessions on Oncology, Paediatric Health and Workplace Wellness,
- advisement on the Right to Know Week
There were mentions of a variety of other subjects that included External Exam results for Government high schools continued to show significant improvement in 2012.
