Deutsche Bank supports Breast Cancer Awareness
Deutsche Bank (Cayman) Limited recently donated $5,000.00 to the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens thus becoming gold sponsor for the club’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.
As a Gold sponsor, Deutsche Bank gives the gift of 20 mammogram vouchers, an airline ticket and 1 week’s accommodation for 1 person requiring overseas treatment.
Janet Hislop, chief country officer, Deutsche Bank Cayman, said:
“I am delighted that employees of Deutsche Bank in Cayman have decided to make this donation to help support the fantastic work that the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens does in raising awareness of breast cancer. Education is a key part of our community investment programme in Cayman and it’s clear that encouraging a greater understanding and knowledge of breast cancer is a major issue about which our staff cares passionately.”
Lion Belinda Blessitt Vincent, President of the Breast Cancer Awareness Committee expressed her appreciation and said that this financial contribution would not only provide free mammograms but also assist cancer patients and their family with medical and other related expenses. The theme for this year, she said is “education, road to wellness” and “the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens, together with our community partners, is dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer issues, especially the importance of early detection.”
Lions Club of Tropical Gardens has identified goals of increased mammogram vouchers, increased support to victims and their families and an expansion of their educational drive, which empowers young women with vital information relating to their bodies.
