Disney not discussing new ships

CARIBBEAN PRINCESSBy Phil Reimer, Canada.com

Time to get caught up some cruise news…

There have been rumours for weeks now that Disney would be announcing plans for a couple of new ships. It could be the case of one party starting rumours and others following.

According to Disney, a press conference is scheduled for the last week of April but the conversation will definitely not be about two new ships.

Princess has been away for four years but now returning to year-round cruising in the Caribbean. It happens next year.

The Caribbean Princess is the ship that will sail a full season of voyages, ranging from 3-to-7-day cruises, all of which can be combined for a longer vacation. Summer cruises for 2014 are now on sale.

The May-to-September program features 12 departures of the line’s popular 7-day Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages, and Princess is running the table with 13 getaway cruises of 3, 4 and 5 days.

All cruises sail round-trip from Fort Lauderdale. Itineraries feature the ports of San Juan, St. Thomas, Costa Maya, Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman, plus most voyages visit the line’s exclusive Bahaman paradise, Princess Cays.

Here’s a look at the Caribbean cruise schedule for summer 2014:
