Disney reveals details for revamped Caribbean Beach Resort

Images of the Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World. The resort will debut renovations when it reopens summer 2018.

Disney offered up a look at some of the spaces coming to the revamped port of entry coming to Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World.

The new images were revealed along with some details on the Disney Parks Blog today.

The resort has been undergoing construction updates since earlier this year with Old Port Royale entryway closing in May.

The new version that is slated to be open in late summer 2018 will include updated Centertown Market, Shutters restaurant, Banana Cabana outdoor bar and Calypso Trading Post.

Disney has said the update will become the centralized location where guests can access services and amenities as well as more dining. Centertown Market will offer casual eating as well as a quick bite market while Shutters will have waterfront dining.

The market is expanding and will be enclosed.

“Guests will enter the space under a large palapa-like structure, accented with glowing colored light pendants made from glass bottles,” according the Disney Parks Blog.

Shutters will be redesigned with handmade items strewn about amid a leafy, floral design. Banana Cabana will feature a communal table made from a wooden boat and steel drums.

Caribbean Beach Resort is a moderate-priced hotel on the Walt Disney World property with rooms starting at more than $200 a night.

Adjacent to the resort is the location for the proposed Disney Vacation Club property Disney’s Riviera Resort, that will be part of the new gondola system coming in 2019.
