Doctors Hospital Responds Swiftly to Cybersecurity Incident

No Patient, 3rd Party, or Service Provider Data Compromised

George Town, Cayman Islands – 28, April 2025

Doctors Hospital confirms that we recently identified a ransomware attack targeting our IT
systems. Thanks to proactive preparation and a robust cybersecurity response plan, our team
acted swiftly and decisively to contain the incident, protect its systems, and maintain
uninterrupted healthcare delivery.

Ransomware attacks against healthcare organizations have become increasingly common
worldwide, as hospitals are seen as soft targets. Doctors Hospital has long recognized this
evolving threat and invested in the necessary protocols to safeguard patient care and
information.

As part of our immediate response, we also secured the systems of our network of clinics —
Doctors Hospital Specialty Clinic at The Strand, and Integra Healthcare at Harbour Walk and
Grand Pavilion — out of an abundance of caution. These proactive measures were taken to
ensure the integrity and security of all entities associated with Doctors Hospital.

Most importantly, we want to reassure our patients, partners, and community that no
patient data, 3rd party data, or service provider data has been compromised.
All patient
information is securely stored on a non-Microsoft Windows proprietary platform, which was not
impacted by the attack.

Led by our Director of Information Technology (IT), Patrick Turbide, and supported by external
cybersecurity consultants, our internal IT team swiftly activated our cybersecurity incident
response plan. As an added precaution, we have been restoring affected systems in carefully
managed phases to ensure a secure environment before resuming full operations. We
anticipate full restoration and operational normalcy by the end of today.

“We understand that trust is the foundation of patient care,” said Dr. med Yaron Rado, Chairman
of The Board of Doctors Hospital. “The safety of our patients — both their health and their
personal information — is our highest priority. We are grateful for the dedication of our team and
the swift actions taken to protect our patients, staff, and community.

Doctors Hospital has maintained full transparency throughout the process, notifying the Cayman
Islands Ombudsman team and relevant cybersecurity authorities. Our commitment to patient
safety, privacy, and the highest standards of care remains steadfast.

We appreciate the continued trust and understanding of our patients, partners, and the
community.

Addressing Your Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Was any patient data accessed or compromised during the attack?
