Double shooting in George Town
Two more people have been shot – this time in George Town.
One man has died and another is fighting for his life.
The double shooting happened before 10pm on Cranbrook Drive off Crewe Road.
Police are at the scene and have cordoned off a section of Crewe Road.
Chief Inspector Frank Owens said: “At about 21.35hrs on Monday 19th September a mobile police patrol came across a male with gunshot wounds in the area of Cranbrook Drive and Crewe Road, George Town.
“Other officers attended and a 22 year old male was transported to GT Hospital where he is presently under going surgery.
“A short time later an 18 year old male was discovered at the scene having died with gunshot wounds, a firearm was also recovered at the scene.
“A search of the area revealed no suspects.
“There is no evidence at this time to suggest that this incident is related to the murders in West Bay.
“Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or if anyone was in the area around the time to contact the George Town CID Department.

It takes the death toll to four in less than a week.
Last Tuesday Robert Bush was killed in West Bay. The following Thursday Andrew Baptist was shot dead and on Saturday night Preston Rivers killed. They were also in West Bay.
On Monday afternoon RCIPS Commissioner David Baines said they understood many of the gangland fraternity had gone underground and were likely to be in hiding outside the West Bay area.
