Former politician Dr Frank McField is recovering in hospital after he was shot in the leg.

There are few details about the incident which took place just after 6am Thursday morning.

A spokeswoman for the RCIPS said: “Shortly after 6.00 am this morning, police received a report that a man had been admitted to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

“The injuries are not thought to be life threatening, police enquiries are ongoing.”

Dr McField was a former Minister responsible for community development, youth, sports and gender affairs. He was a member of the LA from 2001 to 2005.
