A man is recovering in the Cayman Islands Hospital after being struck by a car in the East End last night.

Shortly before midnight on Thursday the man apparently ran into the roadway close to Morritt’s Tortuga Resort and was struck by an oncoming Honda motorcar.

The driver of the car was not injured but the pedestrian was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is still in hospital where is remains under observation.

Enquiries into the collision are ongoing.
