A small fire occurred at Government Administration Building this morning Friday 30 January 2015.

There were no casualties or injuries during the emergency evacuation. The cause of the fire was an electrical “arc” on one of the Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) units that support CIG’s information technology infrastructure within the building.

The Fire Service responded with two rescue trucks and three tankers, and was on the scene in around three minutes. Fire crews remained until the all clear was given just before 1.00pm.

Once the fire was contained, fire officers tested carbon dioxide levels around the building before clearing worker re-entry.
