Emmy®- And Golden Globe-Winning HBO original series “Game Of Thrones” returns for its sixth season on April 24th
The global phenomenon will premiere its new season worldwide, with a simultaneous premiere on Cinemax
MIAMI, FL – April 19, 2016 – HBO has broken records with Game of Thrones, the most watched series in the history of the channel, which will premiere worldwide its sixth season on April 24th at 21hrs AST*, in addition to a simultaneous transmission on Cinemax. The series, winner of multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe® awards, has conquered the world, with a faithful audience with high expectations for the new season.
The first episode will also be available to the public free of charge beginning April 27th on HBO GO, HBO On Demand, HBOMAX.tv and the HBO app, until May 24th.
Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of the fifth season, including Jon Snow’s bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys’ near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen, and Cersei’s public humiliation in the streets of King’s Landing, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to push forward, relentlessly, towards their uncertain individual fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south.
Returning series regulars this season on Game of Thrones include: Emmy® and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Aidan Gillen as Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, Diana Rigg as Lady Olenna Tyrell, Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark and Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow.
New cast members for the sixth season include: Pilou Asbaek, Essie Davis, Souad Faress, James Faulkner, Richard E. Grant, Ian McShane, Joe Naufau, Freddie Stroma and Max von Sydow.

Based on the bestselling book series by George R.R. Martin, the hit fantasy series chronicles an epic struggle for power in the vast and violent kingdom of Westeros. The ten-episode sixth season is executive produced by David Benioff, D.B.
