Employees at Department of Vehicle Services Get Certified

Fleet Manager, Mr Ernest Ebanks has completed the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification course as a Master Medium/Heavy Duty Diesel Technician. Meanwhile Mrs Mercedes Ebanks has completed the Certificate in Human Resources from the University of Portsmouth and Chartered Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD) in the United Kingdom.

“The advancement and development of our people is crucial to the ability of the Department of Vehicle and Equipment Services (DVES) to reach its objectives”, says Director John Carey,.  Mr Carey went on to congratulate both employees on their achievement and to encourage all staff in the department to get certified in their various areas of responsibility.

Mr Ebanks comments: “ASE certification has made me more competent and I have more knowledge in technical areas specifically medium and heavy duty engines. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the rest of the department in making the DVES a more productive environment. I am truly honoured to have this certification.”

Expressing a similar sentiment Mrs Ebanks states: “By working towards this H R qualification, I have gained knowledge in this area, which has given me more confidence to put my human resources skills into practice. I encourage others to do this course.”
