Energy Alternatives offer a secure future for the Caribbean

inner_logoConstant fluctuations in world oil markets, increasing oil prices, and the high dependence on oil imports are severely affecting the sustainable economic growth of the small economies of the Caribbean region. The Caribbean’s challenges of energy dependence and energy security have now become synonymous with the Caribbean’s challenge to remaining competitive.

Sustainable energy technologies, including renewables and energy efficiency have the potential to significantly reduce the amount of fossil fuels that are consumed for the production of electricity in the Caribbean. The fusion of a heightened interest in and appreciation of renewable energy and energy efficiency benefits, combined with increasingly competitive modern technologies has led to a situation in which these systems can provide the most economically sound, long-term investment in the growing power needs of the region.

Solar Power Systems are becoming popular in Cayman, and one company is taking the title for having the largest solar power system in the Cayman Islands. Caledonian Global Financial Services is looking for something bigger than a typical 3 kilowatt system that can power a mid size home.

They want 100 kilowatts that will produce about 32% of the power that the bank uses in their building.

The company executing the work is Endless Energy Caribbean Ltd and they are constructing the system on a structural car park to maximise exposure to sunlight and supply energy to Caledonian’s building.

Endless Energy has just completed the first phase of the solar powered car park and they’re aiming for completion by the end of the year.

Endless Energy Caribbean Ltd. is a Caribbean holding company that provides renewable energy products, design, training, supervision and funding assistance through its network of franchise partners located throughout the Caribbean Island States to assist its customers in reducing or eliminating their utility costs while increasing the value of their homes or businesses.  They specialize in taking their clients “off the grid” where possible. Headquartered in the Cayman Islands, Endless Energy Caribbean Ltd is renewable energy developer integrating diverse, complimentary technologies to provide sustainable energy solutions for the Caribbean region.

The mission of Endless Energy Caribbean Limited is:

“To promote the use of renewable and efficient energy technologies through education, training, workforce development, research, and project facilitation. Endless Energy Caribbean Limited supports clean energy development and energy conservation in order to increase the Caribbean’s energy diversity and security, boost economic development and improve public health. Our mission is driven by the following rationale:— Renewable energy provides bottom-line economic benefits.— Renewable energy addresses increasing environmental issues.— Renewable energy builds upon our region’s natural resources and assets.— Renewable energy creates jobs by supporting regional markets.”
