4 Tips For Enhancing The Gaming Experience On Pcs
Despite the rise of gaming consoles and other dedicated devices, PC gaming has maintained its stand and virtue in the minds of gamers. However, when it comes to PCs, gaming is always subject to risk of lags, hangs, and crashes due to the multiple operations that the system handles at the same duration of time. This is why it becomes important to assure the system of necessary requirements before commencing the gaming session. Here are some tips to enhance the overall gaming performance and experience on PCs.
Upgrading Graphics drivers
Graphics are nowadays the central and key element of gaming. However, getting the true performance out of the graphics card cannot be achieved without proper supporting software that provides the interface to control the graphics system. Therefore, installing the provided graphics driver to the PC or laptop system can be the best option to go for. It will allow raising the existing level of working of the graphics card by providing metered tabs and buttons in the interface. This can help in ensuring the proper environment for certain demanding games that require more than efficient working.
Supercharging graphics card
Having a graphics card is not enough for the purpose of gaming; it also requires that the card has the relevant capacity for running the programs efficiently. The issues related to bottleneck and lagging gameplay mostly arise because of the failing power of the graphics chip to comply with the game needs. Therefore, for making matters more efficient one should go for tweaking the graphics setting from the original factory-based ratios. This can also be defined as overclocking. However, overclocking earlier used to be a threat for the systems, but now the components are designed in a way that they shut themselves up before sustaining any damage. Upgrading to SSD
When it comes to gaming, especially in the advanced formats, the normal modes of storage in the form of mechanical hard disks do not match the level of requirement of the games. This is why SSDs are an advisable upgrade from a memory perspective. Most recommended SSDs are those with the capacity of more than two hundred and fifty gigabytes of storage since most modern graphics games start at a minimum of eight to ten gigabytes of space. Having the minimum or recommended SSD requirements can also help in reducing the load upon the processor, GPU, and RAM, thereby imparting efficiency to the gaming operations.
Disabling Prefetch and SuperFetch
These two features by the name of PreFetch and SuperFetch are meant for boosting the startup time of Windows applications. While these features are enabled, there is an increase in the loading time of the game and the background activities on the system. Therefore, turning them off before starting the gaming session can be the best advice, in order to improve the performance of the system. These features can be turned off by reaching System and Security in the Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, and then Services where the SuperFetch option will be visible. Double clicking on it will display the disable button for it.
