Charlton Ebanks, the 21-year-old man who escaped from police custody last month, has been arrested and is back in the police cells.

Ebanks escaped from his police guard at the Cayman Islands Hospital shortly after 7.00am on Thursday, 17 November 2011.

He was arrested yesterday evening, Thursday 29 December, following a police operation at the Treasure Island Resort on Seven Mile Beach. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, escaping from police custody and in relation to outstanding warrants.

A spokeswoman for the RCIPS said: “The media and public are thanked for the assistance they have provided over the past few weeks as police searched for Ebanks.”
