George Town, Grand Cayman (Friday, 17 November 2023): Cayman First Insurance Company Limited (“CFI”) announces several updates to its leadership team, as the insurance company looks to the future ahead of its 40th anniversary in 2024. 

Today, Mr. Chris Hind steps into his new appointment as Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of CFI.

Mr. Hind was previously the CEO and Director of JN General Insurance Co. Ltd., one of Jamaica’s leading Property & Casualty insurers, and brings with him a proven track record of success and innovation in the insurance industry. His strategic and future-driven approach is aligned with CFI’s purpose, values and commitment to innovation.

Mr. Hind is joined by Vice President – Group Insurance Services, Ms. Polly Pickels, who will be responsible for all aspects of CFI’s group life and health insurance portfolio. Ms. Pickels brings more than 25 years of industry experience, with a particular focus on healthcare, to the company.

CFI Managing Director Mr. Roger Balkissoon has transitioned into a new leadership role as Vice President of CFI’s Property & Casualty division. Mr. Balkissoon has more than 30 years of expertise in technical underwriting as well as leadership experience across both the strategic and operational functions of the business, having joined CFI in 2019.
