Kicking off next week, EuroTier 2024 continues to attract a high level of visitor and exhibitor interest in the world’s leading trade fair for professional animal husbandry and livestock management continues. The DLG (German Agricultural Society), the organizer, has registered more than 2,200 exhibitors. The trade fair taking place in Hanover, Germany, 12-15 November 2024, will be offering its visitors a comprehensive exhibitor and technical programme on 220,000 square meters of exhibition space. With more than 2,200 exhibitors across 13 entire halls on some 220,000 square meters of exhibition space and a top-class international technical program, EuroTier will once again be the highlight of the international livestock industry. Under this year’s main theme of “We innovate animal farming”, exhibitors will be showcasing current innovative approaches and strategies that can contribute to increasing efficiency, sustainability and animal welfare.
DLG Spotlights on key topics in the industry
The DLG Spotlights provide visitors with a comprehensive overview of current issues in the industry:
- The DLG Spotlight “Pig Farming without tail docking”, Hall 15, Stand D29, explores tail docking alternatives and aims to enable investment decisions – in infrastructure, management and sales – that pay off for both animals and humans in the long term. In addition to exhibits and informative display panels from the co-exhibitors of the Spotlight, strategies and approaches from industry and practice will be presented on the adjacent ‘Pig’ Expert Stage.
- A must for national and international breeders is the TopTierTreff – “Top genetics venue” in Hall 11, where leading international breeding companies and organizations for dairy and beef cattle present live the breeds Holstein Frisian, Angler, Swiss brown, Fleckvieh, Grauvieh as well as Pinzgauer, Angus, Charolais, Galloway, Hereford and Wagyu. Various breeds of sheep, goats and horses round off the show.
- The DLG Spotlight ‘AI in poultry farming’, Hall 17, Stand E48, will showcase and impressively illustrate the possibilities that the constantly advancing developments in the field of automation and digitalization in poultry production offer. In the dedicated area, start-ups and established companies will present AI-based solutions, from in-ovo sex determination to animal welfare and health monitoring.
- The “Solar Transition” spotlight, Hall 25, Stand L10, at EnergyDecentral 2024 trade fair, which takes place in parallel with EuroTier, offers visitors free initial consultations on the opportunities and possibilities of photovoltaic use for agricultural businesses.
- The ‘Inhouse Farming’ spotlight will take place in Hall 24, Stand C30, and will showcase practical solutions for the automated breeding of insects and the production of algae as high-quality protein feed, aquaculture as well as vertical farming in circular economy systems.
Expert Stages: presentation stages for livestock farming
Once again several Expert Stages will offer live presentations at EuroTier 2024. The ‘Poultry’ Expert Stage, Hall 17, Stand E56, will focus on key topics in the poultry sector on each of the four event days between 9.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. The ‘Pig’ Expert Stage, Hall 15, Stand D30, offers visitors a compact overview of current developments in the areas of no-docking, sow management, gut health, sustainability, animal welfare and digitalization. Specialist presentations will feature on cattle-related topics in Hall 11 at the TopTierTreff (Top Genetics feature) and in Hall 13 at the DLG Studio Stage and the DLG Expert Stage, Stand E58. This is also where the topic “Direct farm sales and on-farm slaughter” will feature. In expert sessions on the mobile slaughtering of poultry, cattle and pigs, speakers will present practical examples, sales channels and tips for the purchase or use of a mobile slaughtering unit.
Horse husbandry will also be in the spotlight again. On EuroTier Wednesday, 13 November, the DLG and the German Equestrian Federation (FN) are jointly organizing the ‘Horse Theme Day’. In addition, two specialist presentations each day on the DLG Expert Stage in Hall 13 will be dedicated to key issues in the equestrian businesses.
The two Expert Stages ‘Inhouse Farming’, Hall 24, Stand C29, and ‘EnergyDecentral’, Hall 25, Stand B20, complement the comprehensive range of presentations and discussions.
FarmRobotix and Barn Robot Event at EuroTier 2024
This year’s Barn Robot Event, Hall 13, Stand F45, will be presented by the new DLG platform “FarmRobotix”. FarmRobotix offers know-how transfer and networking on the topics of robotics, digitalization, automation and AI in agriculture. At EuroTier 2024, FarmRobotix will be presented in a combination of exhibition and technical programme as well as live demonstrations.
This year’s Barn Robot Event is focuses on automatic pushing of feed in dairy barns. Visitors can watch the robots live in action on each event day, from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm with German commentary and in English from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Company representatives will be present at the moderated presentations of the individual feed pusher and provide information about their products.

Award-winning innovations – inspiring people
As part of EuroTier, the DLG presents three leading international awards for innovative animal husbandry technology: The ‘Innovation Award EuroTier’ honours innovations for practical use and underlines the importance of modern animal husbandry technology for agriculture. The ‘Animal Welfare Award’ honours products and services that particularly meet the requirements for higher animal welfare standards and improved animal health. The ‘DLG Impulse Pitches Award’ recognises processes and products that are intended to enable new forms of alternative agricultural management and food production.
The ‘Women in Ag Award’ honours inspiring achievements by women in agriculture, agribusiness, education, research and development. The best YouTubers, TikTokers, Facebookers and Instagrammers receive the ‘DLG Agri Influencer Award’ for special achievements in the professional and successful communication of agricultural topics.
EuroTier app: Always up to date
The new EuroTier app is a must-have for all trade fair visitors. The app offers a clearly organised exhibitor and product search with additional information and a site plan, as well as the latest event calendar. With the help of the match-making tool, users can find exhibitors that match their interests and network with contacts and other users, write messages and arrange appointments. Travelling to EuroTier 2024 is easy by train, car and plane. The exhibition centre is easy to reach from Hanover Airport both by public transport and by shuttle bus. Car parks are signposted for visitors arriving by car.
