A new opportunity offers one lucky candidate the chance to live and work in a Caribbean paradise – but before you fire off your CV, you might just want to check the job description.
According to the online job listing, jobseekers are expected to greet and serve guests, prepare food, maintain food safety and sanitation standards, and handle light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a “major component of this position”.
They may also be expected to work unsociable hours, as two of the six sandwich franchise branches in the British Overseas Territory are open 24 hours a day.
The role of a sandwich artist requires myriad talents
Applicants also require a high school education, must be able to understand written and verbal instructions and stand and walk the entire day.
There is no mention of any creative experience that would help in the crafting of bread masterpieces worthy of the title ‘Sandwich Artist’.
On their website the firm said: “At the Subway chain we don’t just serve food; we serve fresh, healthy food – we train you to become a Sandwich Artist so when you make a sandwich, you’re not just making something that’s good for you, you’re making a sandwich that looks great and tastes great too!”
