Fashion store robbed in George Town
Armed thieves threatened a member of staff at a George Town clothes store before making off with a quantity of cash.
The robbers struck at 7.15pm on Monday at Awescay Fashions in Shedden Road next to Funky Tangs.
A RCIPS spokeswoman said: “The woman working saw two men drive up to the store in a grey coloured Honda Civic. The men, who were armed with what appeared to be firearms, entered the store, threatened the woman and then made off with a sum of cash.
“No shots were fired and no-one was injured in the incident.
“They drove off in the direction of Martin Drive, it is believed that they then turned on Tigris Street and re-entered Shedden Road.
“Both suspects are described as being of slim build and between 5’8″ to 5’10” in height. Both were brown skinned, were wearing gloves and had black t-shirts wrapped around their faces. The suspect who spoke during the commission of the robbery had what has been described as a Caymanian accent.”
