A historic audience gathered on Sunday, 12^th November, for the first ever Joint Remembrance Day Parade. From 13:00– 14:00  The African & Caribbean War Memorial  

From Stockwell War Memorial to The African & Caribbean War Memorial    Windrush Square, Brixton

Followed by – The ‘REMEMBERED: In Memoriam’ Book Launch at The Tate Library, Brixton (14:15 – 16:15)

This year, the Remembrance Day Service and Wreath-Laying Ceremony include d the attendance of The Leader of Lambeth Council – Lib Peck, The Mayor of Lambeth – Cllr. Marcia Cameron,

MP’s, dignitaries, and various speakers.  Military ‘March Past’, African Drumming, Libation, 2 minutes silence, plaque unveiling and a selection of multicultural events were being held to commemorate all those from Africa and the Caribbean, who lost their lives during World Wars I, ll, and other conflicts around the world.

Everyone was welcome to this multi-denominational event.

‘REMEMBERED: In Memoriam’ Book Launch: This publication is a collection of essays, articles and narratives compiled and edited by Jak Beula and Nairobi Thompson.  It is the most comprehensive account to date, of the contributions made by African and Caribbean Servicemen and Servicewomen during the two World Wars and has been produced as a Souvenir Journal to accompany the historic unveiling of the African and Caribbean War Memorial.  For more info visit www.acmemorial.com
