Former Cayman Islands top government CS joins local firm of attorneys
Deborah joins the firm as a Senior Associate having qualified as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands in 2006. Deborah enjoyed a highly successful career in Government where she rose to the role of Deputy Financial Secretary (Financial Services) having responsibility for policy on legislative development and international issues in relation to the Financial Services Sector.
Deborah was a member of the Cayman Islands Government negotiating teams dealing directly with the OECD and the FATF, and on the Tax Information Exchange Agreements entered into pursuant to the OECD commitment.
Deborah was also responsible for the legislative framework establishing the Tax Information Authority and the implementation of the EU Savings Directive, in addition to spearheading the initiative and the legislation establishing the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange of which she served as Vice Chairman for a decade.
Deborah advises on a broad range of issues concerning domestic and international regulatory compliance.
