Fraser Brothers taking part in the 24th Annual CUC 800M Sea Swim
Competition in this Saturday’s 24th Annual CUC 800m Sea Swim will be a little tougher than usual as Olympians Shaune and Brett Fraser will be part of the lineup when the starting horn blows at 4pm.
Pat Bynoe-Clarke, Manager Corporate Communications at CUC was understandably excited to share the news of Shaune and Brett’s participation: “the CUC Sea Swim has been a favourite fixture on the CIASA open water calendar for the past 24 years. We are committed to the ongoing growth and development of the sport and we are delighted to have Brett and Shaune participate this year. We believe their presence will help enhance the CUC 800m Sea Swim and swimming in general in the Cayman Islands and hopefully encourage more of our youngsters to take a serious interest in the sport.”
When the business of the Sea Swim is complete, including the presentation of trophies, Shaune and Brett will be on hand for an autograph session with the kids who swim … and will of course give the big kids autographs too!
Taking place this Saturday, October 13th, the swim runs north, parallel to 7 Mile Beach starting at Governor’s Beach and ending at Public Beach. Registration is from 3:00-3:45p at Governor’s Beach with the race starting at 4:00pm. Trophies will be awarded for the top three male and female finishers in all age categories. Regardless of finishing position, every swimmer will get a goody bag, t-shirt, refreshments and Subway Sandwiches at the end of the race. Participants in the sea swim will be required to wear distinctive CUC swim–caps, which will be provided upon registration, during the race.
