Fun in the desert this fall leads to fun in the sun in the Spring in the Cayman Islands for IMA Conference attendees

Cayman Enterprise City, a special economic zone that is home to more than 180 businesses, teamed up with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) at the recent Internet Marketing Association (IMA) IMPACT conference in Vegas to offer a unique – and free – contest travel opportunity to two lucky conference participants.

And because the IMA is one of the world’s leading associations for digital marketers, the contest, of course, involved social media. Entrants were encouraged to grab a Cayman Islands-themed prop at the jointly- sponsored promotional booth, strike a pose against a Seven Mile Beach backdrop and then post or tweet the selfie to their social media page using the hashtag #cayman17entry. The winner was randomly drawn by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.

“The creativity involved in the photos and tweets was amazing and we had as much fun looking at them as the participants seemed to have posting them”,” said Cayman Islands Department of Tourism Head of the US Office, Tom Ludington. “Aside from the diverse networking opportunities and insightful information flow that occurred at the IMA conference, you could really tell there were a lot of truly creative people who like to have some fun!”

The team at Scripsense was thrilled to win the contest and is planning to see all their new friends in the Cayman Islands this spring.

“As the winning entry this year, we were proud to show our company’s innovation in capturing everything offered by this lush tropical paradise in one shot.” said Lori Jackson, President of Scripsense “The Cayman Islands has so much to offer, so to have them challenge us to highlight the fun and beauty of the Seven Mile Beach was an exciting way to kick-off the conference!”

“Our team looks forward to reconnecting with all the leadership from IMPACT16, so we will be repurposing our great gift package to go to the Cayman Islands in April for this spring’s IMPACT17 IMA event,” said CEO Melinda Masson.

For the contest, the flights were generously supplied by Cayman Airways while the hotel stay was provided by the new Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa for the IMA Spring event in April, 2017.

“That was a truly memorable promotional effort,” said IMA Chair Sinan Kanatsiz. “And we hope to see the winners in Cayman this spring!”

The contest was a team effort by the CEC and the CIDOT to promote the Cayman Islands to approximately 900 internet industry leaders and digital marketers at the event that featured top quality content with keynote speakers from Oracle, Instagram, IBM, Amazon, Evite, and more.

“It was a great success and we couldn’t be happier with not only the results of the contest but the excitement and energy that was felt from the attendees about considering the Cayman Islands – and the CEC in particular – for their future business expansion needs,” said CEC Vice President of Marketing Hilary Cahill. “It was a truly successful event and is a great lead in to the CAYMAN IMPACT17 IMA gathering!”
