Funds Support Deputy Governor’s Challenge
The funds were presented by Dart representative Derek Haines and CINICO’s CEO Lonny Tibbetts.
Thanking the benefactors for their generosity, Mr. Manderson said the aim of this inaugural event is to encourage health and wellness amongst the increasing number of active civil servants, while including their counterparts in the corporate sector. The wider community is also invited to participate.
The walk/run takes place on Sunday, 25 May 2014, with walkers starting at 6:30am and runners starting at 7am. Proceeds from the event will benefit Derek Haines’ campaign to raise $1million for the new Cayman Hospice Care building, hence the event’s tag line “Running for the New Hospice”.
The challenge course is around the George Town area, and will begin and end at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
Entry forms may be found at the Government Administration Building, the Department of Sports, the No. 1 Shoe Shop, Winner’s Circle Sports, and online at Caymanactive.com/dgchallenge.
