Brussels, Belgium, 15. October 2024: Genesis’ GV60 Magma Concept made an exclusive public appearance over the weekend at Stars Rallye Télévie 2024, in support of the Belgian children’s charity event.
During the Rallye, GV60 Magma Concept was expertly navigated along the Belgian countryside route by Vanina Ickx, racing driver and daughter of Genesis Brand Partner and six-time Le Mans winner Jacky Ickx. The event marked the first public appearance of the GV60 Magma Concept following its global dynamic debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024.
The Nürburgring-based G70 Track Taxi also made its first on-road appearance, taking a break from its usual duties on the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife programme, piloted by retired Belgian Olympic athlete Kevin Borlée.
The Stars Rallye Télévie is an annual road rally organised by Ohana, alongside the Belgian television channel RTL TVI, that raises money for research into paediatric cancer and leukaemia. The event also provides children combatting cancer the opportunity to enjoy a drive with a Belgian celebrity and experience an exclusive vehicle along the way.
This year’s route began on October 12th at the La Ferme de St Jean in Waterloo, leading participants towards the French border for a stop at Viticole Chant D’Eole, continuing an hour-long loop through the nearby villages. The final checkpoint at Drive City in Waterloo was a final chance to take in the incredible cars, atmosphere and experience of the day.
Speaking about Genesis’ presence at the event, Joerg Poggenpohl, Head of Marketing and PR at Genesis Motor Europe said, “It was a privilege to be a part the Stars Rallye Télévie event, and support the charity’s inspirational work for children with cancer and leukaemia. Raising money for a fantastic cause while seeing these two unique cars on public roads for the first time made this a day to remember, and we’d like to thank Kevin and Vanina for taking care of driving duties.”
About GV60 Magma
GV60 Magma elevates the design and performance of the existing Genesis GV60 — the brand’s first dedicated electric model — with enhanced battery and motor technology, along with comprehensively updated chassis, aerodynamics and thermodynamics.
To enhance stability during sporty driving, the car has been widened and lowered, giving it a more dynamic stance and allowing for a lower centre of gravity. GV60 Magma is set for production in the third quarter of 2025. Full production specification details will be revealed next year.
