GENESIS STUDIO EDINBURGH – SIOBHAN MCLAUGHLIN EXHIBITION

• Local Scottish artist, Siobhan McLaughlin, is displaying her artwork at Genesis Studio Edinburgh, 20-22 Multrees Walk, until 13 September
• Siobhan’s specialises in abstract-landscape artwork, combining personal experience with compositional devices
• Genesis Studio Edinburgh recently celebrated its 1^st anniversary since opening in July 2023

Edinburgh, UK, 15 August 2024: Genesis Motor UK has partnered with Scottish artist, Siobhan McLaughlin, to host an exhibition at the Genesis Studio Edinburgh until 13 September. 

Siobhan, who is a local artist and freelance curator based in Scotland, specialises in abstract-landscape artwork which combines personal experience with compositional devices, such as sewing alternative materials. As well as her regular exhibitions, Siobhan has curated major private collection exhibitions at Dovecot Studios for the centenary of Scottish artist, Alan Davie.

Since graduating from MA Fine Art at Edinburgh University in 2019, she has been awarded the SSA Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Award from the Royal Scottish Academy and a film commission from the Tate’s British Art Network.

Until 13 September her landscapes will be exhibited on the first floor of Genesis Studio Edinburgh, offering visitors the chance to explore Siobhan’s artwork whilst enjoying Genesis’ son-nim hospitality, including complimentary servings of the brand’s signature Korean OGAM tea.

Michael Duncan, Studio Manager at Genesis Studio Edinburgh, said: “The collaboration with Siobhan is the first of its kind at the Edinburgh Studio and we’re really pleased to able to showcase her incredible artwork. It is a well-matched partnership, as Siobhan’s art perfectly complements the Genesis design philosophy, which seeks to re-define the typical perspective. One of the core intentions behind the Studio was that it would become a place to connect the community, and working with local creatives is a fantastic way to do that.”

The Studio, which recently celebrated its first anniversary following its opening in July 2023, was the first to open outside of London, built to meet the growing significance of the Scottish market. As with all Genesis Studios, the Edinburgh location was designed as a space to explore and celebrate the brands core values of design, innovation and customer experience.
