“Go-to firm” Ogier stays on top in Chambers High Net Worth Guide for Cayman, Guernsey, and Jersey
Ogier’s Cayman-based Global Senior Partner and tier one practitioner Rachael Reynolds
Ogier remains the only firm to achieve a tier-one ranking across Cayman, Guernsey and Jersey in the newly published independent legal directory Chambers High Net Worth Guide.
Described as “an extremely talented team across their whole division”, Ogier was recognised for how its expert team “can handle the most complex work in a simple, common-sense way, with clients’ needs always their number-one priority.” The rankings cement Ogier’s status as the firm of choice for both contentious and non-contentious private client work.
The Cayman team is “always very swift to respond and assist”, leading to Ogier’s status as “the go-to firm in Cayman”. Ogier’s Global Senior Partner and tier one practitioner Rachael Reynolds KC is described as “a fantastic advocate”. “Clients like her. She is technically very competent and has a client-friendly personality.” Anthony Partridge, who maintains his tier two ranking, is “a technically excellent lawyer coupled with a unique ability to interface with clients on a commercial level.”
Ogier’s private wealth team in Guernsey “provide an excellent service, managing complex transactions in a way which the client understands. They provide clear and commercially driven advice.” Team lead and global head of Private Wealth Matt Guthrie is a tier one practitioner who “has outstanding technical ability while maintaining a commercial view and pragmatic approach. He is able to cut through to the heart of any issue quickly and efficiently, and nothing is too much trouble.” Gavin Ferguson retains his top-tier ranking, and is described as a “a top, top lawyer. Personable, technically brilliant, and commercially astute.” Catherine Moore, who maintains her tier three ranking, is “excellent. She is commercial, forward-thinking and her attention to detail is second to none. She works very hard to deliver, even on demanding timescales.” While “associate to watch” Chris Hards is “simply excellent, a credit not just to the firm but the profession.”
The Jersey team is praised as “attentive and knowledgeable, they have a plethora of experience and work well together to source the necessary advice.” As a result, Ogier’s Jersey team members have all moved up the rankings with James Campbell progressing to tier one and both Josephine Howe and Katherine Neal moving up to tier two. James Campbell is described as “very approachable and able”, while Josephine Howe “brings a perfect balance of professionalism, attentiveness, friendliness and level of service, each and every time”. Katherine Neal is described as “knowledgeable and practical – a solution finder, with great experience in trusts.”
Global head of Private Wealth Matt Guthrie said: “We’re very pleased to see the team’s strength across the board recognised in the new Chambers High Net Worth Guide. This has been another year of strong growth and performance across all of our jurisdictions, with the team continuing to go from strength to strength. These results are testament to the talent, dedication, and client-centricity of our team.”
Global head of Trust Disputes Rachael Reynolds said: “I’m delighted to see this recognition for the Trusts Advisory Group, which highlights the strength of our team across our contentious and non-contentious offering. As we continue to grow and expand our capabilities, we never lose sight of the fact that our clients are looking for first-class legal advice that’s also commercial, and for a human relationship with their advisers.”
