Golden oldies dance
To close the month to honour the elderly St George’s Anglican Church held a “Golden Oldies Dinner and Dance at the St George’s Church Hall.
To even gain entrance to the hall you had to climb a flight of stairs that meant you were really fit to swing your engine and dance the night away.
On Friday October 25th, despite the inclement weather that had me very worried about the attendance, about 200 persons who were not just the golden variety but all jewels had a wonderful time.
The food was plentiful and delicious and what can I say about the music?
GREAT!!!!! The Regeneration Band, headed up by the two Myles brothers, Bunny and Edlin, kept everyone on their feet dancing from 7:30pm ‘til midnight.
The band played everything from blues to calypso, from jazz to reggae, from swing to country….. oh my what a ball we had.
Congratulations to all the organisers and I can’t wait for next year’s.
And I also heard a whisper……… the proceeds of the event are going towards the installation of an elevator/lift for the hall.
So those daunting hall stairs may be a hindrance to all of us who have creaking bones no more.
