Government Financial Statements Deadline Met
The Public Management and Finance Law requires that Government’s Ministries, Portfolios and Offices along with Statutory Authorities and Government-Owned Companies submit their 30 June year-end financial statements to the Auditor General’s Office by 31 August.
“I am extremely pleased to announce that once again, Government’s Ministries, Portfolios and Offices – which total 14 agencies – and its 25 Statutory Authorities and Government-Owned Companies, have all submitted their 30 June 2012 financial statements by the legal deadline of 31 August 2012 to the Audit Office for review and examination by the Auditor General and his staff,” said the Hon Premier and Minister of Finance, Mr. McKeeva Bush OBE, JP, MLA.
The Hon. Premier and Minister of Finance stated that “on behalf of the Government, I offer my sincere thanks to the Oversight Group – consisting of the Deputy Governor, the Financial Secretary, and Chief Officer Mrs. Sonia McLaughlin – that supervised the achievement of this result; as well as to all other Chief Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and their supporting staff, for this great accomplishment – especially in light of the further pressures on time that arose from the 2012/13 Budget preparation process.”
The Auditor General is required to issue an opinion on the 30 June 2012 financial statements by 31 October 2012.
