About 300 people attended the function at The Lions Centre that was supposed to start at 6:30pm. When I arrived at the specified time volunteers were still putting out tables and chairs.
There was recorded music being played and it was a pleasure to meet ‘old’ friends I hadn’t seen in years.
Another thirty minutes later the Premier, Alden McLaughlin, appeared on stage and announced he was not going to introduce any of his Progressive Party members who were all here, excepting for Deputy Premier Moses kirkconnell who was attending his sick wife in hospital, and Juliana O’Connor-Connolly who was in Cayman Brac.
All of these persons made a brief speech, although not as brief as Bush’s that left Seymour slow in coming on to the stage. Seymour said that must have been the shortest speech McKeeva had ever made.
It certainly was. “I concur with everything the Premier has just said.” That was it.

The entertainment, the food and the drinks (that included hard liquor) was all free to the public that was there.
Everyone present was indeed unified.
