George Town man charged with robbery & weapon
A 33 year old George Town man has been charged by detectives from George Town, Criminal Investigation Department with wounding following an incident reported to the police in the early hours of Monday 24th November 2014.
The accused gave a ride to several females to Whitman Seymour Drive, when an argument developed with one of the women. She received a stab wound to the abdomen. A mobile phone was stolen. The accused was located and arrested by detectives, he was charged with robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon.
Drowning
At 3:20pm Friday 19th December 2014, 911 received a report from Red Sail Sports of a female who could not find her husband snorkeling in the water off TikI Beach, West Bay Road. Staff from Red Sail Sports responded on Jet Skis and found an unconscious male offshore in the water. CPR was conducted without a response from the male.
He was transported to the George Town Hospital by medics where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased male, age 35 years from Michigan, USA was a visitor to the Cayman Islands aboard the Cruise Ship Holland America, he was travelling with his wife and 7 year old child.
The matter is under investigation by uniform officers from the West Bay Police Station.
