There are reports that a young woman whose father is allegedly a senior member of the opposition People’s Progressive Party (PPP)in Berbice, is being held by police who are investigating for plotting to commit acts of terror, and for making Bonm threats at the University of Guyana (UG).

At least one source has identified the woman, who is also a UG student, as Dianne Jaffarally, who have since proclaimed her innocence.

The young woman had allegedly made several bomb threats last week, disrupting classes at the university, and forcing its administration to suspend classes until next week.

While details are sketchy, it is understood that law enforcement officials were able to trace all of the calls made by the woman, and such made efforts to arrest her on Friday.
