INEWS GUYANA – A father is now in police custody after he reportedly confessed to ‘unintentionally’ killing his 18-year-old son during an argument on May 4, 2017 at their Better hope, East Coast Demerara home.
Dead is Azeez Khan, of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara.
Based on reports received, on May 4, Khan’s father along with other relatives rushed an unconscious teen to the Georgetown Public Hospital and reportedly told doctors at the facility that he fell off of a ladder at work.
Khan succumbed one day later.
However, the post mortem examination which was conducted on Monday revealed to the police that the teen actually died of hemorrhaging and blunt force trauma.
As such, the family of the child was contacted and the police explained how the results of the post mortem contradicted the story told to the medical officials.
It was then, that Khan’s grieving father reportedly explained that an argument ensued between the two on the day that he was taken to the hospital. He [father] indicated that out of anger, he picked up a wood and hit his son.
Inews understands that the man maintained that it was an accident, and he did not intend for his son to die.
Investigations are on going. (Ramona Luthi)
