Haines all set to raise his $1M for Hospice
Veteran long distance runner Derek Haines collected a cheque from former Rotarian, Peter Kandiah, for $100,000, and is confident he will raise the $1M challenge he has set himself for Cayman HospiceCare.
Haines intends to run six marathons this year to raise the $1 million for a new hospice building and has completed one third of the marathons, having run both the Paris and the London.
He has now raised $342,000 with a pledge of a further $100,000.
Her Excellency, Governor Helen Kilpatrick, is patron of Derek Haines’ six4hospice challenge and was present at the cheque presentation held at a Rotary lunch at the Westin Hotel on Thursday (17).
Haines’ next marathon is in Pamplona, Spain, on June 27th.

I know Peter Kandiah. I am a family member of Peter through his Dad. Hopefully he may remember me.
