The opposition coalition says of the democratic and popular sector, including the hard wing, announced last week that it would undertake meetings with representatives of different sectors of national life in order to intensify anti-government mobilization throughout the national territory.
For the opposition, it is not only a question of getting President Jovenel Moïse to leave, but also of planning the implementation of a transitional government with a precise roadmap and a mobilization agenda with the political actors whose positions are openly known.
Opposition leaders have reportedly told US Under-Secretary of State David Hale during his visit that Haiti is a threat to the Caribbean because of the policies of the Moïse government, which according to them does not cease to encourage : the corruption, the traffic of narcotics and contraband among others…
The opposition says that on March 29 Haiti will be boiling again on the streets and that the mobilization will continue even after the consultations.
The coalition no longer wants to act alone and intends to expand its base and obtain after consultation the support among others : of religious organizations, political groups, economic forum, Freemasonry and committed personalities like Mirlande Manigat.
“Explaining to the important sectors of national life the need we have to chase President Jovenel Moïse of power is one of the objectives of the discussions we are going to conduct,” declared Me Michel Michel, fierce opponent of the ruling party and one of the spokesmen of the hard wing of the opposition.
