HBO delivers the year’s most talked-about box office sensations every Saturday night in September

New movie premieres will take center stage every Saturday night at 10:00 PM, exclusively on HBO

MIAMI, Fla. – August 29, 2017 Saturday nights are reserved for the movies that had viewers and critics abuzz. From star-studded ensembles, chock full of award-winning talent, to storylines that inspired, terrified and mesmerized audiences worldwide, HBO has assembled an unparalleled new movie lineup for the month of September. HBO reigns as home to the most provocative programming on television today, and that all begins with its Saturday night movie premieres.

This month on HBO:

September 2: Take a handful of imprisoned super-villains who are willing to perform high-risk missions for the U.S. Government in exchange for commuted sentences, and you have the Suicide Squad. The film has grossed more than $700 million and follows these lethal misfits known as Task Force X include Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, among others, while there is a diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) unleashing his own evil agenda.

September 9: Passengers takes the trouble of air travel to a whole new level. When two individuals are awakened 90 years too early during a routine journey through space to a new home, they must face the consequences of a life sentence on board, newfound feelings for one another, and the risk of ultimate peril for themselves and the 5,000 sleeping passengers. The film stars Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt.

September 16: Based on the New York Times bestseller by British author Paula Hawkins, The Girl on the Train is a psychological thriller that will keep viewers firmly at the edge of their seats. Emily Blunt received rave reviews for her portrayal of Rachel, a commuter who catches daily glimpses of a seemingly perfect couple from the window of the train. One day, when she witnesses something shocking unfold in their home, and it is unclear what is real, what is imaginary, and what role Rachel has played.

September 23: Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is a 3-D science-fiction action/horror film written and the sixth and final installment in a series of film adaptations based loosely on the video game series of the same name. Mila Jovovich stars as Alice, the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the Undead. She must now return to where the nightmare began for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

September 30: Casey Affleck earned his first Oscarâ for his portrayal of Lee Chandler, a man assigned as the sole guardian of his nephew, Patrick, following the death of his older brother, Joe. The new role forces Lee to reevaluate his life and return home to Manchester by the Sea, where he is forced to face his past before he can embark on this new future.
