Miami, FL – March 26, 2014 – HBO Latin America announced the premiere of the third season of the Emmy® nominated original comedy series Veep, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Emmy® winner and Golden Globe® nominee for her performance in the series) as United States Vice President Selina Meyer. This satirical political comedy, set in Washington D.C., will debut on April 6th in the Caribbean, simultaneously with the United States.
After the revelation at the end of season two that the president will not run for reelection, season three begins with Selina eyeing a promotion and courting Iowa caucus voters at a signing for her new book, “Some New Beginnings.” Selina and her staff, back in D.C. for Mike’s (Matt Walsh) wedding, soon learn that Secretary of Defense Maddox (Isiah Whitlock Jr.) is resigning – setting Selina up for a possible run in the presidential primaries against Maddox and her nemesis, war vet Danny Chung (Randall Park).
Over the course of this season’s ten episodes, Selina and her staff will set up an exploratory campaign office in D.C. and travel to Silicon Valley to raise money and to London to meet with heads of state, while Amy (Anna Chlumsky) and Dan (Reid Scott) vie to be Selina’s campaign manager.
Created and executive produced by Armando Iannucci, Veep’s stellar cast includes Tony Hale (Emmy® winner for his role) as Selina’s bodyman Gary; Anna Chlumsky (Emmy®-nominated for her role) as her chief of staff Amy; Matt Walsh (Hung) as Meyer’s spokesperson Mike; Reid Scott (My Boys) as ambitious political aide Dan; Timothy C. Simons (Days Together) as White House liaison-turned-political gossip blogger Jonah; and Sufe Bradshaw (Prison Break) as Meyer’s executive assistant Sue.
New series regulars include Kevin Dunn (True Detective, Luck) as Ben, the president’s chief of staff. Guests this season include Gary Cole (Entourage), Kathy Najimy (King of the Hill), Christopher Meloni (True Blood), and Zach Woods (Silicon Valley).
