Health experts: Get a road map to your 2017 health goals
Health experts’ at Cleveland Clinic’s Huizenga Executive Health Suite in Florida, remind the Cayman community that the best way to reach health goals for 2017 is to work with healthcare providers to establish a road map to success.
It is recommended that both men and women undertake a series of medicial exams, such as those included in the Huizenga Executive Health Program, in order to establish their current health status and then work together with their healthcare provider to establish health goals and a specific action plan to achieve them.
“Testing may include chest x-ray, cardiogram, stress test, breathing test, mammogram and several other exams in order to ensure that the doctors helping in this process can get the best information and give the best recommendations to improve health moving forward,” local Program Director Dr. Steven Avallone, MD, said.
Evaluations should be tailored to an individual’s age, sex, family history, personal history and other risk factors in order that any possible increased health risks are specifically looked into.
Experts note that this is especially important for busy executives who may not feel they have the time look after their own health while juggling their work responsibilities.
“Top executives can face additional health issues unique to their positions. They are often dealing with stress, anxiety, and isolation,” Dr. Avallone said. “Services at Cleveland Clinic are provided mindful of the fact that a minimum amount of time is important.
“The most important point for people wanting to achieve their New Year’s health resolutions is to find a trained professional to help them establish a solid step by step plan, which takes into consideration all their individual health risks and strengths.”
