Heavy rains in The Cayman Islands on Saturday, May 12, failed to put a damper on the inaugural JN Money’s I Love Jamaica Day which was held at Crown Square, East Avenue.

The event which promised a ‘360-degree’ package did not disappoint, as many patrons benefitted from a wide range of financial services, scrumptious meals and a thrilling entertainment package led by International Reggae artiste, Ding Dong.

“The event met all our expectations and we are already planning for a second staging as we work towards empowering our customers and further exposing our rich Jamaican culture,” explained Horace Hines, General Manager, JN Money Services, owners and operators of the JN Money brand.

Despite the torrential downpour, patrons accessed a wide range of services such as passport and immigration, mortgage, banking, finance as well as the health and wellness options that were on offer.

The food village established by CB Foods had great tasting Jamaican cuisine from some of Cayman’s top Jamaican restaurants, while patrons got the opportunity to capture their ‘I Love Jamaica Day’ moments at the photo booth. ‘Bad Dawg’ sausages, a favourite in Jamaica, made its debut at the event and were a hit as patrons consumed the “fully loaded” hot dogs.

There were many onstage activities throughout the course of the day where patrons participated in to win various prizes from the sponsors.

The evening concert kicked off with performances from Michelle T and Zamar, finalists in the Cayman Gospel Song Competition. The finalist of the “Dweet fi the Likes” Dance Off competed for the top spot which was won by Skippy Dextrous Brothers. Shemeka Clarke and Vital gave thrilling performances that got patrons ready for Ding Dong’s headline performance.

International Reggae artiste and Magnum Brand Ambassador, Ding Dong, closed out ‘I Love Jamaica Day’ with a selection of songs that kept the crowd dancing. Along with ‘The Ravers’ crew, he sent waves of energy through the crowd with popular songs such as ‘Flairy’ and ‘Fling’. The artiste invited fans on stage to dance with him, ending JN Money’s ‘I Love Jamaica Day’ on a high note.
