Hedge fund issues to be discussed at Cayman conference
Attorneys John Kozyak and Adam Moskowitz, partners in the Miami-based firm of Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton, will be speaking at a conference in the Cayman Islands titled “Litigation Updates for the Hedge Fund Industry.”
The conference, which begins at the Westin on Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman on Thursday (28) afternoon at 3 PM, will cover issues facing the hedge fund industry.
The conference aims to provide the hedge fund community outside of the United States with an update on current and new issues facing the industry.
“Hedge fund litigation is a critical issue in the Caribbean,” said Adam Moskowitz.
“It is of particular significance in the Cayman Islands, one of the world’s largest banking centres and one of the fastest-growing locations for hedge fund managers. Nearly all the world’s major financial institutions have Cayman branches, and financial services provide one of the island’s largest sources of employment. Emerging issues in hedge fund litigation are keenly felt here.”
Also speaking at the conference will be Boris Onefater, president and CEO of Constellation Investment Consulting and Timothy Lee, a former financial executive and senior policy advisor at the Federal Housing Finance Agency Office of the Inspector General.
Lee will address the issue of LIBOR litigation, a growing concern for executives and attorneys worldwide.
Moskowitz will do the introduction and provide an update on hedge fund litigation and Kozyak will update the attendees on bankruptcy litigation.
The final item on the programme is a panel discussion on litigation with an update from the Grand Cayman view.
