Her Excellency Jewel Howard-Taylor appointed Global Patron of World Orphans Day by Founder

The former Vice President and First Lady of Liberia, Her Excellency Jewel Howard-Taylor, has graciously
accepted the role of Global Patron for World Orphans Day. As the newly appointed Secretary-General of the African First ladies Peace Mission, Madam Taylor’s passion and commitment to unity, peace and well-being of children is well recognized and revered across Africa and the world.

Her Excellency will join in Co-Hosting the First Ladies Summit for Orphans and Vulnerable Children as a media and fundraising event for the orphans in Nashville, TN September 27-28, 2024.

This will be the initial event for building peace and unity among nations, working to bring better living
conditions for those most deprived and suffering in Africa. The Stars Foundation and the African First Ladies Peace Mission have initiated a 5-year commitment to work together for these symbiotic goals and to promote World Orphans Day each year. Piggott was impressed with the strong educational program of the school, which includes 25 years in vocational training and computer classes for empowering young women.

organized by Bishop Robert Bimba, director of the newly formed The Stars Foundation Africa office.

In her tenure as Former First Lady and Former Vice President of Liberia, Her Excellency has helped build and train over 50,000 young girls and women across Liberia through 16 schools and 1 in South China. Her passion for the women to be raised up strong spiritually as well as academically, has contributed to the positive uplifting of the Liberia culture among its young people.

Former First Lady Taylor and Piggott announce the confirmation of 3 more First Ladies and their Ambassadors and dignitary entourages joining in the Summit. First Lady Monica Chakwera of Malawi will be attending asmwell as First Lady Kartumu Yarta Boakai of Liberia. First Lady Janet Museveni of Uganda has graciously sponsored her representative Dr. Jolly Kaguhangire from the UWESO government division for Orphan Care. The Kingdom of Eswatini is desiring to again be represented at this Summit in Nashville, as they were in 2019, with the Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku and his diplomatic entourage keynoted the event. Attendees will be announced at a later date.

The Stars Foundation and Nashville welcomes the delegation from the African First Ladies Peace Mission for the First Ladies Summit on September 27, at a private undisclosed facility of a celebrity supporter.

The event will be followed by a fundraising gala for the First Ladies called the Rhinestone Gala. Manuel Curves, the distinguished fashion designer, known for the glitter and sparkle of Nashville fashion wear by the Stars, will be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the event.

Entertainment will be provided by Rebecca Holden and Terrell Edwards from Hollywood. We anticipate a few special guests from country music to make surprise visits.

One of the top featured items of the Silent and Live Auction will be the beautiful quilt that The Stars Foundation received from Her Excellency Jewel Howard-Taylor that was hand made at the School of the Jewel Starfish Foundation. It is signed by Madam Taylor. Also available for Auction are signed Guitars by Dolly Parton and Vince Gill, Kentucky Headhunters, The Voice Winners, Brad Paisley, Craig Campbell, Big Machine’s Riley Green and several guitars signed by many of the top stars of Nashville.

The Stars Foundation was founded by Cheryl Robeson-Piggott in the early 2000’s and founded World Orphans Day in 2006. The Stars Foundation is a United States Based 501c3 non-profit organization. It serves as an advocacy organization for the underprivileged children and youth of the world. They advocate for global peace, and goodwill between nations as well as fighting for justice for the oppressed. In its humanitarian efforts, over $115,000,000 dollars of goods in kind have been sent around the world.

The Stars Foundation is very pleased to announce that Jay Paul Deratany, a human rights activist, lawyer and movie producer has graciously donated the World Changer sponsorship level of this exclusive event. Jay Paul Deratany produced Foster Boy which was released during 2020, and Shaquille O’Neal was one of the co- executive producers. His newest movie is in development, called Kickin’ It.
