Hit and run accident along North Church Street – female victim critical

The 28 year old female victim of the hit and run accident along North Church Street on Monday night 1 July 2013 has been flown out by air ambulance to the US last night. She is still listed in critical condition.
Meanwhile, a man suspected to be the driver in question has been arrested, interviewed and bailed by the police pending further inquiries. A vehicle believed to have been involved was seized.

At approximately 8:20 pm 01/07/13, 911 Central received a report of a hit and run accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian along North Church Street, George Town in the vicinity of Cash Wiz. Police and medic units were dispatched to the scene and the female victim transported to the George Town Hospital. She said to be in critical condition.
One male has been arrested following the incident.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the Cash Wiz, North Church Street around 8:20 pm to contact PC Jameson at the George Town Police Station at 949-4222
