Holmes Murphy Announces Advancements to Key Leadership Positions

Waukee, IA – January 11, 2024 — Holmes Murphy is pleased to continue its tradition of advancing and elevating the next generation of leadership into strategic roles as it looks to amplify its status as one of the nation’s largest employee-owned and controlled insurance brokerages.

Announced today is the appointment of key leaders into several major roles throughout the Holmes Murphy enterprise. Each of the individuals propelled into these key roles has considerable experience throughout the industry and has excelled at providing values-driven results over the course of their tenure with the company. These individuals will continue to lead Holmes Murphy in its mission to provide exceptional service and care for every client’s unique potential.

As part of this strategic growth, Travis Dent, Steve Gfroerer, and Josh Loftis have been appointed new members of Holmes Murphy’s Board of Managers. Dent has been with Holmes Murphy for more than 20 years, currently serving as a Senior Vice President in the Employee Benefits division. Gfroerer has been with the company for two and a half decades and leads all specialized areas of the Property Casualty division. Loftis has been with the company for 19 years and is a Senior Vice President, Surety for Holmes Murphy Construction.

Jay Reavis has been named President of Holmes Murphy Brokerage Services, which encompasses the company’s Employee Benefits and Property Casualty divisions. Reavis started with Holmes Murphy as an intern, transitioning into a full-time role in 2005 with our captive company, Innovative Captive Strategies (ICS), where he built a successful career. In 2017, Reavis transitioned to a leadership role within our Holmes Murphy Brokerage Services division. Since that time, Reavis has been a dedicated leader who has continually executed on ensuring employee and client success.

John Hurley II, who has been with Holmes Murphy for more than 30 years, has been named Chief Operating Officer of Enterprise Technology, which will allow him to focus on aligning technology with Holmes Murphy’s business and clients.

Both Reavis and Hurley are also on the company’s Executive Committee, Board of Managers, and Brokerage Services Leadership team.

“These promotions reflect Holmes Murphy’s dedication to growth and enriching our team of experts to provide excellent outcomes for our clients,” said Dan Keough, Holmes Murphy Chairman and CEO. “We are excited about all of these changes as we continue to evolve and propel Holmes Murphy forward.”

In addition to the previously mentioned role elevations, Alanna Trundle has been named President of Global Captive Management Ltd. (GCM), subject to approval by the Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman department. Trundle has been an integral part of this Holmes Murphy subsidiary company since 2010.

Dan Etzel will assume leadership over Holmes Murphy Construction. Starting in the Minneapolis office as its first intern, Etzel has since become a trusted advisor and leader in the construction sector.

Regionally, Cameron Burt and Nate Heying will move forward in their leadership roles as Market Leaders for Holmes Murphy’s Omaha and Kansas City teams, respectively. Burt has been with Holmes Murphy for more than 20 years and is Senior Vice President of Property Casualty. Heying has been with Holmes Murphy for more than nine years and is Vice President of Property Casualty. Both have a true passion for serving clients throughout the Omaha and Kansas City communities.

“We are confident that by advancing these leaders, we will be able to not only meet, but exceed our clients’ and employees’ needs, expectations, and goals. It’s an exciting time to be at Holmes Murphy, and I look forward to seeing each of these leaders in their new roles as they care for and advance our company and clients,” said Keough.
