Hospitality Assured to strengthen international reach at Caribbean Tourism Organization conference

0a1_1416ST MICHAEL, Barbados – Hospitality Assured is to continue strengthening its international reach at the CTO – 8th Tourism Human Resources Conference taking place in Antigua and Barbuda from 11-13 May 2016.

John Burchell, a Director of Hospitality Assured, will be conducting a Master Class on the second day of the conference entitled ‘Seeking Excellence Through Continuous Improvement – A Formula for Business Success’ before taking part in a panel discussion on the use of metrics to effectively propel business performance.

“We are indeed very pleased that John accepted our invitation to participate in our conference this year,” said Bonita Morgan, the CTO Director of Resource Mobilization & Development. “As one of our UK Hospitality Assured colleagues and as a Lead HA Assessor, Trainer and Coach, we have found John to be a wealth of information, support and encouragement as we guide our Caribbean businesses through the Hospitality Assured Certification programme. We are confident that our conference delegates will derive great benefits from John’s Master Class as he will no doubt share his broad knowledge of the subject area as well as his experience in assisting businesses in the application of continuous improvement tools and processes. John will also add great value to our panel discussion on the topic Using Metrics Effectively to Propel Business Performance and we look forward to his interaction with our regional counterparts in both sessions. Additionally, this year, for the first time, the CTO is recognizing outstanding Hospitality Assured Caribbean businesses within the body of the conference and we look on it as a bonus to have John represent Hospitality Assured Limited and be part of this awards ceremony.”

The aim of the Master Class is to equip participants with an awareness, knowledge and understanding of practical tools and techniques of continuous improvement, which can then be applied in their own businesses to effect significant improvements in product and customer service quality as well as financial performance.

“The Hospitality Assured project which the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) is running is a trendsetter,” said John Burchell, Operations Director at Hospitality Assured. “With its focus on striving for business and service excellence in tourism and hospitality organisations, it is a model for HA Projects which could be applied successfully in many parts of the world, especially where small, owner-managed businesses form the core of tourism and hospitality. I am delighted and honoured to have been invited to present a Master Class on the subject of Continuous Improvement and I am really looking forward to my visit to Antigua as well as meeting the very committed, enthusiastic and passionate people who are successfully championing Hospitality Assured in the Caribbean.”

The conference event, hosted at Jolly Beach Resort & Spa in Antigua, is part of a collaboration between The Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism.

The main aim of the Tourism Human Resources Conference is to bring together professionals from both the public and private sectors, tourism practitioners, tourism educators/trainers, consultants and in general persons with responsibility for people management, to share strategies and best practices on areas and issues affecting human resources management and development in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
