Hot welcome in North Side for new Governor

Governor with Mr MillerOn Friday 13 September, Governor Helen Kilpatrick met the residents of North Side over a dinner of fried fish and fritters at the Craddock Ebanks Civic Centre.

After the dinner Mrs Kilpatrick walked to each table to introduce herself to the guests. District Council member Patricia Ebanks also showed her the wall at the back of the civic centre which contains a visual history of North Side history, including historic homes, missionaries and key figures in the community over the years.

Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the district, Ezzard Miller, who was the host for the evening, said that he and the members of the North Side District Council were looking forward to working with Mrs Kilpatrick.

Wide Overhead Shot of DinnerSpeaking at the event Bo Miller, remarked that while every other district in the Islands would offer the new Governor a warm welcome, North Side was pleased to offer a hot welcome instead.

He added that he had been particularly impressed by her commitment to the environment, something that he described as being among the Cayman Islands’ most valuable assets.
