How to get your swimming pool ready for Summer?

Summers are the most enjoyable time of the year. It allows an opportunity to get out of the closed doors of the gone winters and enter a new and shiny world altogether. The radiating sun heat and the light open a plethora of outdoor activity options to try out. This is the time when swimming pools become more like a club or a hangout area. However, after a long damp season of ice, these pools suffer a great mess of dirt and debris. Therefore, here are some tips for getting the pool ready for splashes of summer.

Cleaning the debris

The very first step is to start with cleaning the most prominently visible item, the debris. There is a good chance of the area being covered with a bundle of dead leaves, twigs, and even muck after keeping it covered for the past season. This may require the use of strong brooms, wipers, leaf rakes, etc. Cleaning these materials off the pool may also require assistance in lifting the collected waste depending upon how deep the pool is. The cover may also have water accumulated over it, for which one can use mesh nets to scoop it out.

Brush cleaning the steps, walls, and ladders

This is an important step as it will not only clean the pool but also reduce the chances of accidents. Steps and especially ladders can also go on to accumulate a lot of grime over time. This grime can continue to exist in the season and revive itself in contact with water making it more slippery. Thus, removing it properly with close attention is the only way out. Brushes are an effective tool for it. A good round of brushing can bring an altogether new shine to the pool.

Using Vacuum

The cleaning done by vacuum suction process for the dirty water and material is unmatched by any other means. This is because if the pool is filled with water from the last season, it most likely is having debris collection at the farthest and deepest corners. Now, the suction force is so impacting and powerful that it can pull out such material without any need of putting direct physical force. Even skimming is very hard in these circumstances. Therefore, out-to-out vacuuming is the best available option.

Inspecting the filtration system

This is something to be done post-cleaning. Using filtration systems is very essential for preventing any harm during the swimming session. One should be ensuring almost three to four sessions of filtering the water from the pool. Each session may take a time period of about eight to twelve hours. This process ensures the removal of harmful chemicals and substances that may damage the skin or other body parts. The presence of these particular chemicals causes a serious imbalance in the pH levels of water with the skin. One can do the filtering process at night, where pools will get enough time and safety and the day events can be carried out normally.
