During his visit to Hong Kong Premier McKeeva Bush attended a financial services industry reception hosted by HSBC on behalf of the Cayman Islands at its Hong Kong headquarters.

Among industry partners attending the reception were representatives from Maples, Appleby, Ogiers, Conyers, Aima, and Simmons & Simmons.

Premier Bush used the opportunity to speak about changes to the Immigration Law allowing permanent residency for wealthy individuals and also discussed new amendments to the insurance law. The Premier thanked the industry partners for continuing to support the Cayman Islands with their business while encouraging them to send more business our way.

Premier Bush told the gathering of industry partners that he was still mindful of opening a Cayman Islands office in the region. Such an office he said would service, promote and push the tourism and financial services industries of Cayman, as other jurisdictions are now doing in the region.
