Mystery surrounds the ownership of Ningaloo, previously known as Lady B, a 45-metre luxury yacht currently making its way up the coast of Italy to Napoli.
According to multiple sources, the Cayman-Islands-registered gin palace, which changed hands in a private sale in November for €17.9 million (a pricey $A24.4 million), now belongs to Caledonia chief investment officer Will Vicars. But Vicars disputes this, telling us the tips are “off the mark”.
Ningaloo was one of the most expensive luxury yachts for sale last year according to boatinternational.com, being able to accommodate eight guests in four cabins, as well as featuring a split-level saloon with panoramic views, an entertainment system starboard, walnut joinery and a curved skylight that keeps the interiors bathed in Mediterranean sunlight. We thought it could be Vicars’, as regular readers will recall he is a) loaded and b) appears in the market for a new yacht, having in June put his 31-metre Sarafin up for sale for nearly €7 million, or $A10 million.
Alas, it seems we’ll have to keep looking for Sarafin’s replacement.
