Iconic adidas Athletes – Patrick Mahomes, Aliyah Boston, Anthony Edwards – Showcase How to Find the Fun During Pressure−Packed Moments in Sport in adidas’ Latest Campaign

  • As the fall sport season kicks off in earnest for professional and youth athletes, adidas has released the latest chapter of the brand’s bold campaign aimed at informing athletes on how to disarm negative pressure on the field anchored by the brand’s positive rallying cry, You Got This.
  • adidas and the leading sport neuroscientists at neuro11 found that elite athletes are up to 40% more effective than grassroots athletes at managing pressure in high-stakes moments
  • adidas’ newest campaign features Patrick Mahomes, Aliyah Boston `and Anthony Edwards as they inspire younger generations to remember the simple joys of sport — even when the pressure is at its highest

Today, adidas unveils the next chapter of its brand campaign as it continues its ambition to help athletes at all levels to disarm negative pressure in sport. Featuring iconic athletes Patrick Mahomes, Aliyah Boston and Anthony Edwards, the campaign amplifies the importance of self- belief, showcasing how those at the top of their game channel it to encourage the next generation of athletes to follow suit.

“Pressure is a part of the game, but it doesn’t have to control you,” said Mahomes. “My best advice is simple: it’s only a throw — or a catch, or a kick — so trust yourself and enjoy the moment. I’m excited to be part of an adidas campaign that inspires young athletes to keep the game fun and not let pressure take that away.”

Through a series of dynamic scenes, against the soundtrack of Queen ft. David Bowie’s iconic Under Pressure, the newest iteration of the “You Got This” campaign films feature Mahomes, Boston and Edwards offering words of encouragement to young athletes inpressure-packed game moments. The commercials, directed by Derek Cianfrance, use a playful device of paper basketball and football games to convey the message that pressure can be a motivating force rather than a stumbling block. The commercial featuring Mahomes debuted Sep. 23, while the campaign commercials featuring Boston and Edwards will be unveiled later this month.

“Sport is about more than winning. It’s about the love of the game and the joy that sport brings,” said Chris Murphy, SVP of Brand Communications at adidas. “adidas strives to help athletes at all levels understand how they can excel in the face of pressure, and we empower players to foster a positive mindset and focus on the fun. Just breathe and remember, you got this.”

The latest films showcase how each athlete inspires the next generation to harness their inner self-belief, confidence and willingness to embrace fun to overcome pressure during high-stakes moments in their respective sports. From Boston comforting a young basketball player during her free throws to Mahomes encouraging a kicker prior to a last-minute field goal attempt, these examples serve as a reminder for athletes at every level that giving everything you have — regardless of the stakes — is a different, more meaningful version of winning, echoed by the brand’s positive rallying cry You Got This.

“I remember the first time I picked up a basketball, and now I’m out here going against the best in the world,” said Edwards. “I’ve always played for the love of the game and with this campaign, I want to inspire young hoopers to shake off the pressure and keep it real— remember why we play in the first place.”

“Thinking back to those days playing basketball as a kid, I remember how simple the gamefelt,” said Boston. “As a professional player, the pressure can be intense, but it’s also a chance to bring my game to new heights. When you embrace every challenge, on and off the court, you can rediscover the joy in the game and perform at your best.”
