IMF / 2021 Annual Meetings Advancer
The IMF and World Bank are set to launch a hybrid version of their Annual Meetings in Washington, DC next week (October 12-23).
The Fund will launch the World Economic Outlook forecast for global growth on Tuesday showing that COVID-19 vaccinations are helping economies but growth is expected to moderate slightly this year.
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva laid those themes out Tuesday (Oct. 5th) of a world marked by increasing divergence and hobbled by pandemic, in a speech hosted by Bocconi University in Milan to unofficially launch the Meetings.
The IMF will also launch its other Flagship reports – the Fiscal Monitor and Global Financial Stability Report, followed by a week of virtual and in-person meetings and events for its 190-country membership and the public.
