The world’s financial leaders are set to meet in Washington, DC this week for the IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meetings. 

This year marks 80 years since the founding of the cornerstone international financial institutions at a resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire in the waning days of World War 2.

Concerns over high levels of debt, economic impact of the wars in Gaza and Ukraine and the impact of artificial intelligence on the world economy are front and center for policy makers in their meetings.

The IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings coincide with the G20 Finance meetings, led this year by Brazil.
